New County Search Facility
County Search is a new search facility that orders business listings by county.
County Search allows you to select a county and then search for businesses in each category.
Business Categories in Business Directory
I rearranged the categories in my main business directory site today and now display them all alphabetically as so,
Things you put off, then after doing, wish you had done months before
I’ve always just used email addresses on by business directory site but have been meaning to set up contact forms for at least 18 months.
I finally got round to doing a couple today and can see straight away how much easier it is going to make my life.
Rather than just receive emails with only half the information I need to update business listings, I now have a couple of forms set up with fields for the relevant questions.
It’s already showing how much better it is, I’ve done 3 updates and 4 password retrievals already, and what used to take minutes now only takes seconds.
Must get around to looking at other things I have been putting of, as I wish I had set these forms up months ago.
Alternative to Searchmash
It’s been 2 years now since SearchMash.com has gone the way of the dinosaur so if anyone knows of an Alternative to Searchmash please let me know.
Buying a ramp for wheelchair users
There are a number of things to consider when buying wheelchair ramps the first being can you build a wheelchair ramp yourself and if so do you have wheelchair ramp specificationsd and know the correct wheelchair ramp angle.
If any of this daunts you, rather than building a wheelchair ramp you may find it easier to simply buy a lightweight portable wheelchair ramp which you can simply position when required and take up again when not in use.
www.wheelchair-ramps.co.uk provide a wide range of portable wheelchair ramps which are designed to be lightweight, easily deployed and easy to store away when not in use.
Visual Aids Pebble Hand Held Magnifier
I had the latest brochure come through from Enhanced Vision last week and finally found a bit of time to sit and read through it today.
I was quite interested to see a new hand held magnifier alongside the Amigo called Pebble.
The Pebble is a lightweight portable hand held magnifier which can be easily carried in your pocket, handbag or even clipped to your belt.
The Pebble magnifier has a high resolution LCD screen measuring either 3.5 or 4.3 inches, has 28 viewing modes, adjustable brightness and has up to 2 hour battery life before having to plug in to recharge.
I will soon be adding the Pebble to my visual aids section on my wheelchair ramps and disability aids website.
PermaRamp Wheelchair Ramps
A totally new concept in wheelchair ramps the Permaramp range is designed to be fixed down or left in place.
Wine Storage Cabinets

I’ve been working on and off all week on a website that sells wine storage cabinets
They have just launched a new range called Tastvin which comes with a wide range of storage option s including, single temperature wine cabinets and dual temperature wine cabinets
I’m not a big wine drinker myself, but if I was going to get one of these cabinets I would go for the Tastvin T220V Display model
It doesn’t hold as much as some of the true storage models but instead has 6 display shelves and feature lighting and is quite often used by swanky restaurants to show off their fine wines but keep them perfectly stored and ready to serve too.
Glis Glis Control Bucks
The glis glis is a small but very destructive rodent. It was introduced into England at the turn of the century and escaped from Tring in Hertfordshire
The first sign of glis glis is often scratching noises coming from the attic. They are nocturnal and can be very vocal throughout the night, making a ‘woofle woofle’ sound. They are very agile climbers and will get into kitchen cupboards where they leave their droppings.
The glis glis is protected under The Wildlife and Countryside Act. This means that only pest control companies such as Glis Glis Control Bucks who are authorised under licence, can trap them.
Wheelchair Ramps website – how it used to be
I was looking back through some of my old invoices at easyspace today and noticed that one of the first wheelchair ramps websites I registered was back in June 2001.
I remember at the time I was still working full time in the building industry, saw all the new regulations coming in about disabled access, saw everybody virtually ignoring them, and realised there might be some money to be made in the future from providing a range of portable wheelchair ramps.
I did more research to discover the DDA was coming in at the start of October 2004 which meant all service providers were supposed to make their premises accessible to anybody who was disabled.
I then set to work building a site and have just found an old page that was the homepage in 2003

I must have thought it was good at the time, but looking back now it was terrible.
