Yahoo to shutdown MyBlogLog
It was recently announced that Yahoo were actively discussing the future of MyBlogLog and that one of the options was to shut it down.
I’ve dec ided to pre-empt this by deleting my account completely.
I don’t use it as much as I used to, but my main reason for shutting it down is due to the privacy issues. I’m pretty sure I had opted out of the data storage, but still saw my details show up when visiting a site with the MyBlogLog widget embedded.
It disturbs me that any website owner with a MyBlogLog widget can see when I visit their site (or anyone viewing the widget for that matter).
Thinking about it, the system really is open to be abused, I’m not going to take the risk of opting out of data storage again, this time I will delete completely.
